Writer, Director, Actor, Editor, comedian

Evan Rissi has been featured on television, films, radio, podcasts, websites such as Complex and Booooooom.com, and profiled in national newspapers like the The Globe and Mail. As a comedian, his distinct brand of humour has landed him on live television, featured performances at roasts, and popular online shorts.

In 2014 he wrote, directed, and starred in an original show called Herbert, an eight episode comedy web-series. From this, he was approached to create, write, and star in a television pilot called Atlas Electric. Successively, Evan would write, direct, and star in a 20-minute spoof documentary called The Gold Paddle, which is currently being developed as a series. In 2016, he would create Going In, a proof of concept short film and feature script, with an accompanying crowdfunding campaign that would go on to raise $40,000 for feature-length development. In 2022, the short mockumentary film Sky’s Limit was released worldwide through Thrasher Magazine. Currently, after an arduous process navigating Covid-19, his first feature length film Going In is available to rent or buy on AppleTV and other platforms, in addition to a limited edition release on VHS cassette.

Aside from film, he served as editor of King Skate Magazine and King Snow Magazine from 2011 to 2016, Canada’s largest skateboard and snowboard magazines, and is a contributing writer to various other publications. He also regularly appears on NBA TV Canada to comment on Raptors basketball, and occasionally MC’s skateboard events and workshops for Converse, Vans, and Canada Skateboard. As a copywriter his clients include Coors Light, The Raptors, Hudson’s Bay Company, Mountain Dew, Houseplant, OLG, and more. Additionally, he has written commercials, speeches, and jokes for various scripted and non-scripted shows. He enjoys Margaritas and Tears for Fears.
